ABOUT GIART

Introduction

GIART has been created in 2003 by Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese collective management societies of performing artists rights to guarantee the protection of performers’ rights by European and international legislations.

One of GIART main objectives is the efficient and effective administration of individual performers’ rights and the signature and implementation of reciprocal representation agreements between its members.

GIART also aims to:

  1. Co-ordinate the technical activities of the collective management societies of performing artists’ rights, members of GIART;
  2. Found an international centre of research, information and database of performers’ intellectual property rights;
  3. Make solidarity actions, on a voluntary basis and not binding for all the members of the Association, in order to enable certain members, or future members, from emerging countries, to have access to modern related right legislation and modern management techniques.
  4. Preparation of joint legal positions as collective management societies.
