GIART fundamental function is to represent collective management societies of performing artists rights before the European and international institutions. It informs its Members on the development of European and international legislations concerning performing artists rights and collective management.

GIART provides its members with the following services:

1. Legal advice on European and international Law with the aim of improving the different national and international legislations on copyright and related rights;
2. Contacts with key persons in the EU and international institutions;
3. Technical advice and support in the field of the administration of performing artists rights;
4. Development of strategies of lobbying;
5. Public relations campaigns and events;
6. Regular news and information services;
7. Wide range of other communications tools;

One of GIART’s main areas of activity is the cooperation among the members on technical issues.

In particular, GIART members prioritise the development of techniques improving the collection and distribution of artists' rights and in general of any other activity connected to the collective management of rights and the signing and implementation of A-type reciprocal representation agreements among our members.
